Istanabul – Bonus Features

I thought that I’d add a few photos of Istanbul that didn’t make it into the last blog. Not that they didn’t deserve to be there, just that I didn’t want to make the posting too long for fear of boring you all to tears.

Went to the Grand Bazaar today. Pretty cool place. Had some good food and got lost. The hawkers are a little more aggressive here – “Can I help you spend your money?” One guy asked us where we from, I told him Canada. His eyes lit up. “Paul Martin?” I wasn’t too sure what he said, so again he said, “Paul Martin?! Come I show you”. Sure enough he had a photo of his arm around former PM Paul Martin. We laughed. Then he tried to sell us a carpet.

Galata Tower. It’s been around since 500 A.D. or so. It now has a nightclub in it.
